The goal of the Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission is to promote and support the economic development of the region and to guide the local units of government in a coordinated effort to develop the region in a way which would best promote the public health, safety, general welfare and economic prosperity in accordance with existing and future needs. We do this by providing technical assistance to the cities, counties, businesses, and other development organizations in the area, and by networking extensively with state and federal resource agencies.

Building a Better Bootheel is the 2024 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the Missouri Bootheel. This strategy was prepared by the Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission (BRPC) in cooperation with the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee.

AVAILABLE GRANTS & FUNDING LEVELS
SMALL PROJECT GRANT
•Up to $5,000 (maximum of $10,000)
•Applicants may apply for more than one small grant per cycle
LARGE PROJECT GRANT
•Up to $100,000 (not to exceed funds available from allocations)
•Applicants may only apply for one large grant per cycle
Important Dates for all project grants:
o Wednesday, December 18, 2024 – Preliminary Application Conference by 3 pm (required)
o Wednesday, January 8, 2025 – Final Application Due by 3 pm
o Thursday, January 23, 2025 – Executive Board approval meeting
The total amount awarded for any single grantee shall not exceed $100,000 within a fiscal year (July-June).
